Kennispark Twente offers a dynamic environment to the many spin-off companies from both the University of Twente and Saxion University of Applied Sciences and other leading innovative companies. The foundation helps start-ups grow, assists SMEs and industrial companies to accelerate their innovation projects and builds open innovation clusters. In about 150 events per year innovative companies can meet their innovation partners, their funding partners, develop their knowledge and expand their network.
Each year about 10% of the ‘Dutch Technology Fast 50’ for fastest growing tech-companies come from the region of Twente. In recent years more than 260 million euros was invested in innovation projects by companies and the authorities in Twente.
Meanwhile over 380 companies have settled on the park, making it the largest innovation campus in the Netherlands, offering jobs to about 6300 people. The R&D intensity per employee is estimated at 450 euros (the Dutch average is 290 euros per year). The majority of these entrepreneurs have united in the Entrepreneurs Association Business & Sciencepark. In short it is a location where entrepreneurship is part of the culture and the daily routine in its hospitable and established climate.
Kennispark Twente is one of the 7 leading Dutch innovation campuses and was voted the Best Businesspark in the Netherlands (2013).
