Kennispark in Enschede was announced Best Business park in the Netherlands during the National Conference for Business Parks. An expert panel and the audience at the conference thought Kennispark scored best in terms of the economic value of the park, the profile of the park, the organization of the companies at the park, the flexibility of the park, the level of facilities, the user satisfaction and the branding. Kennispark will receive a sign ‘Best Business park in the Netherlands’.
“The expert panel was especially convinced by the economic development program underlying Kennispark, the cooperation between companies and governments, and the way we think about the future in an ecosystem for innovation,” explains Pieter Dillingh who represented the board of directors during the conference.
“We’re very happy with this recognition,” adds Marjan Weekhout, director of area development at Kennispark Twente. “Kennispark Twente is the supportsystem for innovation and entrepreneurship in our region. These activities mainly land at our innovation campus in Enschede. Working on a clear profile for our innovation campus, based on our economic development perspective, works. We know that because of the attention and recognition we’ve received for our approach, nationally and internationally, from governments and companies.” “This award underlines that our joint approach is the right one and that we chose the right direction 30 years ago, with Harry van den Kroonenberg at the University of Twente,” adds director Kees Eijkel.
Alderman of the city of Enschede Marijke van Hees: “This award underlines the good cooperation between companies and the Kennispark partners: the city of Enschede, province of Overijssel, Region of Twente, the University of Twente and Saxion University of Applied Sciences. A successful and growing Kennispark results in job creation in this city and region. And that’s exactly why we do this together! Kennispark is more and more growing into a unique combination of innovative companies, incubators and organisations related to business, science and leisure. FC Twente and the entrepreneurs at Go Planet Parc contribute to that tremendously. The award “Best Businesspark of the Netherlands” motivates us to continue on this path”.
The competition Best Business park in the Netherlands is an initiative of Elba Media and the national conference for business parks. An expert panel of 15 professionals chose the 3 nominated business parks from 43 subscriptions. The expert panel and audience decided which park would be awarded best. The Award was handed out for the fifth time this year.
